Finnebrogue has launched Naked Chicken Breast Rashers across 220 Tesco stores nationwide.
The nitrite-free product (rsp: £3.95/200g) is made without artificial additives or preservatives and crafted from 100% British chicken breast.
With 20g of protein and just 95 calories per 100g, Finnebrogue said the rashers were the “ideal choice for health-conscious shoppers” looking for alternatives to conventional bacon.
“This is a significant step forward for the Naked brand,” said Declan Ferguson, group director for product development and innovation. “Our focus is on challenging convention to deliver food that is nutritious, tasty, sustainable and affordable, while responding to what consumers really want – from removing nitrites to improving nutritional profiles and offering alternatives for different dietary needs.”
The Sofina-owned brand said the move was inspired by consumers embracing healthier eating habits, and referenced IGD research which found 41% of consumers said they ate healthily most of the time.
He added: “The launch of Naked Chicken Breast Rashers builds on the success of previous Naked innovations and reflects growing demand for cleaner-label, high-protein foods that do not compromise on taste or quality.”
