Fibre Machine is available in 300ml and 750ml bottles

Naked has launched a high-fibre smoothie aimed at tackling the UK’s “fibre gap”.

Fibre Machine, which provides 4.2g of fibre per 300ml serving, is made from a blend of kiwi, apple, spinach, chicory root fibre and apple cider vinegar.

It is available in 300ml (rsp: £3) and 750ml (rsp: £4.50) bottles. The former has landed in Sainsbury’s and Boots, while the latter is in Tesco and Sainsbury’s.

Each bottle also contains vitamins C, B1, B2, B6 and E, which contribute to normal energy-yielding metabolism and the reduction of tiredness and fatigue, according to Naked.

The brand said it had “turned its attention to fibre intake” after 96% of Brits were found to consume less than the recommended 30g of fibre a day, citing the latest National Diet & Nutrition Survey.

It comes after Naked launched a Protein Machine range last year, comprising two high-protein smoothies – Strawberry & Raspberry and Pineapple & Mango – made from fruit and pea protein.

“Health is no longer aspirational and can be actively supported with small, meaningful improvements,” said Liz Ashdown, marketing director at Tropicana Brands Group.

“We’ve seen how quickly interest in nutrition and wellbeing has grown, with 46% of consumers now ranking gut health as their top health priority. Naked Fibre Machine is a delicious way to add fibre to your everyday routine, without compromising on taste or convenience.”

The launch follows a series of high-fibre NPD. In August, Jason’s launched Seeded Fibre Loaf and Seeded Fibre Rolls, while more recently Bol expanded its Power Soup range with two high-fibre variants.
