The challenger’s wafer bar range comes in five flavours: Chocolate, Vanilla, Orange Chocolate, Hazelnut and Peanut Butter. Each 40g bar boasts 10g of protein and zero added sugar (rsp: £2/40g).
The entire range has landed on Ocado, with Chocolate, Vanilla, Orange Chocolate and Hazelnut rolling into 321 Sainsbury’s stores.
Nick’s has also bagged a listing in 172 Morrisons stores for its Chocolate and Hazelnut wafer bars, as well as for its protein bars in Choco Crunch and Dulce de Leche flavours (rsp: £2/50g).
Prior to landing its first supermarket listings, Nick’s was stocked in Boots, Amazon and at fitness clubs.
Founded by Niclas Luthman after he was diagnosed with prediabetes, Nick’s debuted in 2013, promising to offer “sweet treats without compromising on sugar intake”.
The startup aims to target “the space between traditional confectionery and functional sports nutrition”, with a “more treat-led approach to protein snacking”. Its full range includes confectionery, protein bars, ice cream and sweeteners.
“ The UK is a hugely exciting market for Nick’s, and these new retail partnerships are a major step forward in our ambition to make better-for-you snacking more accessible,” said Jesper Mathiasson, VP of sales at Nick’s. “We believe people should never have to choose between a genuinely delicious treat and making more considered food choices. That’s why we put taste at the heart of everything we do, with no added sugar and protein adding to the appeal.”
