Irish dairy brand Nomadic has launched a yoghurt and oat bar it says will kickstart a new category in chilled snacking.
Its new Yogurt & Oat Bar (rsp: £1.50/28g) has a soft oat base topped with yoghurt and is encased in dark chocolate. It will launch into Morrisons on 27 October.
Nomadic said it would be “the first chilled bar of its kind in the UK”, although the bars were already mainstays in Europe and had recently become a “huge hit” in the US.
“We couldn’t be more excited with this launch. It’s a new category with massive potential that we’re delighted to create,” said the company’s brand manager, Jennifer Crew. “Genuine variety in chilled snacking – especially in nourishing and convenient snacks – has been sorely lacking until now.”
Nomadic described the SKU as a “dessert in a bar and a lighter take on indulgence”, noting it contained 134 calories and “gut healthy live cultures”.
The brand said the launch was informed by consumer research in the UK, as well as “fact-finding missions” in key US markets such as Chicago and Los Angeles.
The bar will launch just over 20 years since the company launched its Rumblers range, which evolved into Nomadic’s line of Yogurt & Oat Cluster pots.
