Last month, Oscar Mayer teamed with elite women’s rugby union players to launch a trio of chilled ready meals in Asda

Oscar Mayer has promoted Chris Taylor to the newly created role of group sales and marketing executive director.

The promotion follows the departure of chief commercial officer Gordon Walsh, who has decided to “explore other opportunities outside the business”, Oscar Mayer told The Grocer. Walsh had held the role since July 2023.

Taylor joined in January 2024 as director of retail sales, having previously spent 12 years at Kerrygold owner Ornua in a range of senior roles including business unit director. He joins Oscar Mayer’s executive team with immediate effect.

An Oscar Mayer spokesperson said: “We wish both Chris and Gordon well in the next stages of their careers.”

The appointment comes as the ready meal manufacturer expands its presence in Asda. Last month, it partnered with Blue Dragon to launch six chilled meal bowls, including Korean BBQ Chicken, Japanese Vegetable Yakisoba and Thai Green Chicken Curry. It also teamed up with elite women’s rugby union players to launch three chilled ready meals that combine “bold flavours with nutritious ingredients”.
