Papa Johns has appointed Grant Reed as its new UK and Europe managing director, following a shake-up of its international leadership team.
Reed first joined the pizza chain in 2023 and has held several roles, including senior director for corporate stores, as well as his most recent position as senior director for operations and franchising for the UK and EMEA markets.
Prior to joining Papa Johns, he spent almost four years at The Demipower Group, a franchisee operating over 100 KFC restaurants across England and Wales.
For more than 25 years of his career, Reed worked for McDonald’s, having spent his final four-and-a-half years at the business as senior director for UK operations, before departing the fast food giant in 2016.
Announcing the promotion at Papa Johns on LinkedIn, Reed said: “It’s been a fantastic journey so far, and I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity to now lead our UK and European business.
“I’m incredibly fortunate to work alongside a talented UK leadership team, as well as passionate teams, franchisees and partners across the business. We’ve achieved a lot together, but there is still plenty of opportunity ahead of us.
“I’m excited about what comes next – continuing to put our customers at the heart of everything we do, supporting our franchisees and teams, and building an even stronger Papa Johns business across the UK and Europe.”
His appointment follows a reshuffle of the Papa Johns senior leadership team last week, which saw former UK, Europe and Canada MD Chris Phylactou promoted to international senior vice president.
Reed added: “A huge thank you to Chris Phylactou for his leadership, support and trust. I’ve learned a great deal working alongside Chris, and I’d also like to congratulate him on his new role as senior vice president, leading our international markets. I’m looking forward to continuing to work closely with him.”
Other changes in the leadership shake-up saw Chris Lyn-Sue, who served as senior vice president, general manager of international, appointed to global chief marketing officer.
John Matter, who served as senior vice president, general counsel and interim head of North American development, was appointed to the newly created position of global chief development officer and assistant corporate secretary.
