French bakery chain Paul is launching Ice Cream Croissants at select London stores amid the heatwave, after the UK recorded its hottest ever May day.
The creation will see Paul pairing its freshly baked croissants, which are made using traditional French techniques, with soft serve ice cream.
Ice cream flavours comprise vanilla, chocolate or salted caramel, with a vegan strawberry sorbet also available. Additional toppings comprise fresh strawberry slices, chocolate sauce and crumbled meringue.
The Ice Cream Croissants are available to eat in or take away at £5 each from stores including Holland Park, St Paul’s, Three Quays, Regent Street, South Kensington, Marble Arch and Earl’s Court.
The launch comes after the UK recorded its highest May temperature for the second consecutive day yesterday (26 May), rising to 35.1ºC at Heathrow and Kew Gardens in London, according to the Met Office. It followed highs of 34.8ºC on Monday 25 May.
