Apple growers are hoping to raise their profile with a sponsored row.
Pink Lady apples is sponsoring a group of four men’s attempts to row the Atlantic in a shocking pink boat called the Pink Lady.
The attempt, from Newfoundland, to England, aims to beat the current record of 55 days by at least 10 days.
Andy MacDonald, director with Pink Lady supplier Coregeo, said: “Through our sponsorship we will extend our reach to the widest audience of consumers yet.
“This intrepid non-stop ocean row lends itself to TV, radio and press coverage. We are looking forward to seeing broadcasts and images of the improbably pink boat on the high seas.”
