Plenish shots duo

Both shots have launched in Sainsbury’s stores

Plenish has added Fibre and Ultra Turmeric shots to tap functional health trends.

Dosing bottles of the new flavours have landed in Sainsbury’s stores (rsp: £5.95-£6.95/420ml), with Ultra Turmeric also available in a 60ml shot format (rsp: £2.30). Both are also available via DTC.

Fibre is made with cold-pressed ginger, lime and mint, and contains 5g of fibre – equivalent to 16% of the daily recommended intake for adults.

It was launched in response to growing demand for products high in fibre, Plenish said. According to government estimates, 96% of the UK population does not consume the recommended daily intake of 30g of fibre.

The NPD would “help consumers looking for easy ways to increase their daily fibre intake without providing too much fibre in one go, which can cause digestive issues”, the brand added.

Ultra Turmeric, meanwhile, contains 29g of cold-pressed turmeric, alongside 15% and 100% of the recommended daily intake of iron and B12 respectively.

It was designed to deliver “more nutrients and superfoods with every dose”, Plenish added.

“The launch of Fibre Shots responds to a real consumer challenge of not getting enough fibre and will help consumers meet their daily fibre goals,” said Russell Goldman, managing director of breakthrough brands at Plenish owner Carlsberg Britvic.

“We also want to ensure we are continuing to cater for the consumer that wants even more out of their wellness habits,” Goldman continued. “Ultra Turmeric provides a powerful hit of active ingredients, minerals and vitamins to aid recovery and offer support for everyday health goals.”

It comes after Plenish entered the protein category with a duo of plant-based powders earlier this month.
