Popeyes UK is launching a New Orleans-inspired Cajun Crunch lineup in one of the fried chicken chain’s “boldest menus to date”.
Launching today (16 June), the menu features a new Cajun Crunch Sandwich with hand-battered chicken, Kickback sauce, chilli cheese and red cabbage slaw, and a Cajun Crunch Superstack Sandwich, which is made up of the same ingredients plus a Cajun hash brown.
Other menu items include a Cajun Crunch Wrap and a Cajun Crunch Box Meal, which features a Cajun Crunch Sandwich, two tenders, Cajun fries, a Hot Honey Dip and a drink.
The Feast of New Orleans – a spread featuring a Cajun Crunch Sandwich, tenders, Cajun fries, smoky beans, biscuit and a Hot Honey Dip – will also join the lineup, alongside Cajun Citrus Boneless Chicken and Wings.
Across drinks, Popeyes is launching new Fresh Lemonades in Original, Peach and Strawberry, and a Mud Pie Whipz dessert offering soft-serve vanilla layered with brownie pieces and chocolate crumble.
“New Orleans doesn’t do subtle – and neither do we,” said Popeyes UK & Ireland head of food Dave Hoskins. “Cajun Crunch is all about turning up the volume: more spice, more depth, more crunch.
“This menu is big, bold and full of contrast – crispy, fresh, indulgent – exactly how New Orleans flavour should be.”
It follows the launch of Popeyes’ partnership with Irish forecourt operator Applegreen last week as it looks to expand its presence in the Republic of Ireland.
The franchise agreement will see Applegreen invest €6m (£5.2m) to deliver a pipeline of Popeyes restaurants in roadside locations over the next four years. Since first entering the UK market in 2021, the food-to-go chain has scaled to more than 110 restaurants.
