Popeyes first landed in the UK in 2021 with a restaurant in Westfield, Stratford

New Orleans-born chicken QSR brand Popeyes has reached 100 restaurants across the UK, marking a milestone in its growth plans.

The 100th site is located at London Bridge station and will open on 25 November, offering both dine-in and takeaway options.

The 3,000 sq ft site, which marks Popeyes’ 27th restaurant in London, will span two floors and is the company’s latest opening in a key travel location.

In April, Popeyes launched a strategic partnership with SSP Group, which saw it open the chain’s first-ever UK airport site at Birmingham Airport this summer, and in July it opened a restaurant at Birmingham New Street station.

Popeyes first landed in the UK in 2021 with a restaurant in Westfield, Stratford, which continues to be the brand’s busiest site globally. The company is on track to open almost 50 restaurants in 2025 alone across multiple formats, creating more than 2,500 jobs.

“We’re immensely proud to have reached this milestone – growing to 100 restaurants within four years of entering a new market is a remarkable achievement,” said Popeyes UK CEO Tom Crowley. “Our growth so far is a strong testament to the strength and appeal of the Popeyes brand and our fantastic, authentic fried chicken, which is always cooked fresh and breaded by hand.

“Our restaurants in travel locations are always popular with commuters and holidaymakers grabbing a Popeyes on their journey. We’re now truly one of the most well-established fried chicken QSR brands in the market.

“We continue to see an amazing customer response at all of our openings, and we will continue to open more Popeyes restaurants up and down the UK in 2026.”

Earlier this month, Popeyes launched new kiosk software to “enhance the customer experience” in its restaurants.

The technology has seen a full redesign of the order screens, bringing them more in line with the app and online experience to reduce ordering times and allow Popeyes to better promote its key products.
