Fried chicken chain Popeyes UK has appointed Stuart McNamara as its new finance director.
McNamara joins from bakery chain Buns From Home, where he held the position of finance director for just over a year.
He also previously held the role of finance director at steak restaurant Flat Iron for four-and-a-half years, and at French restaurant Côte Brasserie for more than two years.
Sharing the news on LinkedIn, McNamara said: “I’m happy to share that I recently started a new position as finance director at Popeyes Louisiana Chicken UK.”
His appointment comes as Popeyes has secured new finance facilities totalling £43m to support the continued rollout of its growth plans across the UK.
Popeyes first landed in the UK in November 2021 and now has over 80 restaurants. In 2024 alone, the QSR chain opened 33 new shops and sold the equivalent of one sandwich every three seconds.
It now plans to open 45 new restaurants this year and expects to create around 2,500 jobs.
