Lactalis UK & Ireland has launched Président Crème Fraîche, marking the brand’s first fresh cream SKU in the UK.
Available in a 200ml resealable tub from Co-op (rsp: £1.55/200ml), the NPD is positioned as a premium, “authentically French” option in an own label-dominated category.
It promises a rich, thick texture that stays stable and smooth when heated, delivering a creamy finish across savoury and sweet dishes.
Tapping demand for affordable ‘premium‑at‑home’ upgrades, the NPD targets shoppers seeking indulgent, flavour‑led results with minimal effort.
It was also designed for versatility (blending into sauces, soups, curries and pasta, and adding richness to bakes, desserts and topping) while the resealable format helped maintain freshness.
As one of the few branded crème fraîches available, the launch offered a clear point of difference, according to Lactalis.
“Président is synonymous with quality, indulgence, and the French good life, and this launch is a natural next step in our strategy to bring great-tasting French dairy products to UK shoppers in ways that elevate everyday dishes,” said Lactalis UK & Ireland GMD Héloïse Le Norcy-Trott.
“With our Crème Fraîche, we’re extending that expertise into a new part of the fixture, giving shoppers a simple way to add richness and versatility to everyday cooking,” she added.
“As consumers continue to look for easy ways to create more indulgent meals at home, we see a clear opportunity for a premium, branded crème fraîche that delivers both quality and performance.”
The launch has been backed by in‑store activation, including PoS and shopper education.
