All four products will roll into Tesco on 26 October

Princes has expanded its canned ready meal range with four Asian-inspired curries.

Thai Red Chicken Curry, Thai Green Chicken Curry, Chicken Katsu Curry and Korean Sweet Chilli Chicken Curry (rsp: £2.50/392g) were developed to tap into growing demand for “modern Asian cuisine”, said Princes.

Thai, Japanese and Korean flavour profiles were gaining “mass market appeal”, it said. Meanwhile, 80% of canned ready meal shoppers wanted more “modern cuisine” options, it added, citing data from the Food Innovation Solutions Group.

Thai Green Chicken Curry, Chicken Katsu Curry and Korean Sweet Chilli Chicken Curry are in Sainsbury’s. The latter is also stocked in Iceland, and all four products will roll into Tesco on 26 October.

“We know consumers are increasingly seeking exciting, global flavours that are both convenient and tasty,” said Jeremy Gibson, marketing director at Princes Group. “Our brand new flavours will bring some of the nation’s favourite Asian-inspired dishes to the canned ready meal category, providing shoppers with affordable, quick meal solutions.”

Despite declines in the wider canned ready meals category, value sales of curry products grew 2.1% to £15.6m in the year to 5 September 2026, on volumes up 2.6%, said Princes, citing Circana data.

“As curry continues to perform strongly within the category, we’re confident these new additions will appeal to both existing Princes shoppers and those looking to explore new cuisines at an affordable price,” Gibson added.
