Rapid grocer Gopuff has launched a storefront on Amazon.co.uk, offering “thousands” of grocery products for delivery to customers within an hour.

The 24-hour service – which suggests order arrival could be “as fast as 15 minutes” – has initially been made available to customers in Birmingham and Salford.

Orders are prepared by Gopuff employees within its own micro-fulfilment centres, and delivered to customers’ doors directly by Gopuff delivery partners.

Amazon said the service offered “a full grocery shop, delivered in minutes” with categories covering fresh food, cleaning supplies, baby essentials, snacks and alcohol.

Gopuff is offering up to 50% off Ben & Jerry’s products and three for two on select fruit & veg as part of a launch promotion.

“We’ve spent the past 12 years building the infrastructure needed to deliver groceries and essentials in less than 60 minutes and as fast as 15 minutes, enabling us to offer customers the ultimate convenience, affordably,” said Alberto Menolascina, Gopuff SVP of UK and new business.

“We’re delighted to bring this shopping experience to even more customers thanks to our partnership with Amazon, which enables customers to conveniently access our service through their Amazon account,” he added.

Gopuff joins several grocery retailers in establishing a storefront on Amazon. In 2019, Amazon’s wholesale supply partnership with Morrisons evolved into the supermarket becoming a retailer on the Amazon marketplace, and the following year a dedicated Morrisons online store front was unveiled.

Co-op made 10,000 SKUs available to buy on Amazon in 2021, giving Prime members the ability to do “their full Co-op grocery shop” on the site. And Iceland launched on Amazon.co.uk offering thousands of SKUs to Amazon shoppers, picked and delivered from its own stores, in 2023.

The e-commerce giant has since established partnerships with grocers around the world, including Tegut, Knuspr, and Monoprix in Europe; Save Mart, Weis Market, Bristol Farms and Metropolitan Market in the US; Watsons and Little Farms in Singapore; Life, Valor, Arcs, Marukyo and Seijo in Japan; and Lulu Group in Dubai.
