Richard Hammond Gin Lifestyle

Ratio London Dry Gin features a botanical line-up containing bilberries, stinging nettles and gorse flowers, alongside local honey

Richard Hammond has followed his former Top Gear presenters James May and Jeremy Clarkson into booze by launching his own range of spirits.

Ratio London Dry Gin (rsp: £44.50/70cl) and Iron Ridge Malt Whisky (rsp: £49.95/70cl) are produced in partnership with Hawkridge Distillers.

Ratio London Dry Gin is described as “inspired by Hammond’s travels” and features a botanical lineup containing bilberries, stinging nettles and gorse flowers, alongside local honey.

Iron Ridge Malt Whisky, meanwhile, is matured in American bourbon casks. It takes its name from a hillside ridge visible from Hammond’s home in the Lake District.

Initially, the tipples have launched exclusively through Cotswold Fayre for the speciality and fine food sector.

Hammond Sprits

The duo have launched via Cotswold Fayre

“With our strong heritage of supporting local producers alongside our dedication to providing the very best products to our farm shop, garden centre and independent customers, we are very proud to have been chosen by Richard Hammond to support the launch of his new spirits range,” said Paul Hargreaves, Cotswold Fayre’s chief ‘empowerment’ officer.

Hammond’s foray into the world of booze comes four years after his former Top Gear presenting colleagues. Jeremy Clarkson launched his beer and cider brand Hawkstone in 2021. Its brews are now sold in retailers including Sainsbury’s, Waitrose and Morrisons.

James May, meanwhile, introduced James’ Gin in the same year. It is currently stocked in Waitrose.
