Sainsbury’s and Argos have launched a nationwide festive recruitment drive for 19,000 seasonal roles.
There are 17,000 roles to fill at Sainsbury’s and another 2,000 at Argos. Duties will range from replenishing shelves and serving shoppers at the tills to carrying out deliveries to customers’ homes.
During the festive season, Sainsbury’s will be providing employees with free food during shifts. Eligible colleagues will also be entitled to a 10% discount at Sainsbury’s and Argos, rising to 15% every Friday and Saturday at Sainsbury’s and on payday at Argos.
Sainsbury’s has also upskilled existing colleagues to manage on-demand orders and work flexibly across the store.

Seasonal colleagues will be employed on fixed-term contracts ranging from four to 12 weeks.
