Nisa supplied Select and Save is on the comeback trail with a new fascia and aggressive expansion plans, according to sales and development controller Tim Scott.
The symbol group haemorrhaged members two years ago after major supply problems with its then owner Booker Wholesale Foods.
Former S&S area manager for Booker Scott said: "The new fascia is on trial at three of our stores so far. We will officially launch it at the Convenience Retailing Show in Birmingham in March. It is a complete change of internal and external imagery, and we have also put together a stunning off licence offer."
Scott said S&S wants to recruit franchise and company stores to add to its estate, potentially doubling numbers to 100 in the next year.
He said sales were buoyant at a recently launched pilot campus shop at the University of Central England, and S&S is currently negotiating with other universities and student unions to extend the concept.
Eight further high street S&S stores, based at sites with a large catchment area, such as housing estates, are also in the pipeline.
