Shake Shack is to open a new restaurant in Manchester where all the meat on the menu is halal-certified.
Opening its doors at the Trafford Centre on 27 March at 12 noon, the menu will feature halal-certified beef and chicken, as served in its other UK restaurants. The Manchester site will also serve halal-certified beef hot dogs and, for the first time in the UK, will offer halal bacon.
Everything will also be prepared without alcohol in the kitchen.
The first 100 people in line at the store’s opening will receive a free ShackBurger or Shroom Burger, while a custard cart will be serving complimentary mini scoops of chocolate frozen custard throughout the day.
The opening marks the New York-born brand’s first restaurant in the north of England. It will offer the full Shake Shack menu, including Crinkle Cut Fries, Flat-Top Dogs and shakes.
The brand, which was founded in 2001, is now present in 18 countries. Its UK arm currently operates 17 restaurants, with 11 in London and others in Cambridge, Oxford, Cardiff and Birmingham.
