Snappy Shopper has launched a 24/7 delivery feature on its q-commerce app to help convenience retailers carry out round-the-clock deliveries in a “viable, compliant and sustainable” way.
The new functionality includes category restrictions, so retailers can automatically switch off products when the shop is closed, such as hot food, or when licensing rules apply.
It also offers dynamic pricing, giving retailers the option to apply a surcharge on out-of-hours orders, as well as operational flexibility. This means retailers can clearly define trading hours in the app so customers can see accurate availability.
Retailers will also have access to new analytics on overnight and out-of-hours sales so they can track performance and make informed decisions about whether extended hours work for them.
“Whether it’s a parent needing emergency supplies in the middle of the night, an NHS worker finishing a shift, or someone looking for late-night snacks, local convenience stores can now deliver when other retailers are closed,” said Snappy Shopper.
Mike Callachan, CEO of Snappy Shopper, said: “This is a huge step forward for independent retail. We’ve developed and tested the technology and now we’re rolling it out to help local stores meet real, everyday needs around the clock. We’re proud to lead this innovation for the benefit of both retailers and their communities.”
The feature’s launch follows trials with selected stores across the UK, including Premier Barmulloch in Glasgow. Since launching the service in February 2025, store owner Girish Jeeva has seen a surge in overnight orders.
His store recently hit a significant milestone, surpassing £100,000 in gross merchandise value in a 30-day period, driven in part by overnight trade.
“We knew there was an appetite for overnight delivery, but the response has blown us away,” said Jeeva. “We saw 25 orders on the very first night. Now, we are serving a new stream of regular customers overnight, often buying essentials like bread, milk, eggs and snacks.
“We’ve even installed a secure back door for drivers to make overnight fulfilment safe and efficient. It’s been a game-changer.”
While the 24/7 functionality is now available across the Snappy Shopper platform, retailers must meet eligibility requirements. A selection process will ensure only those capable of maintaining strong operational standards and customer service are onboarded for round-the-clock delivery, Snappy Shopper said.
Retailers interested in offering 24/7 delivery should contact their store contact or representative, it added.
Callachan added: “We have built this technology, and the results and customer feedback have been amazing. ”The next step is rolling this out to the right stores, in the right areas, to deliver a reliable 24/7 experience at scale.”
