SpudBros Express, the viral jacket potato concept developed by TikTok sensation SpudBros and food brand operator Taster, is to expand into Scotland.

Under a new development agreement with franchise operator SUR Group, the first location will open on Lothian Road in Edinburgh in July 2026. Further openings are planned across Scotland over the coming years.

The venture will be led by SUR Group CEO Suhail Rehman, alongside business development director Tariq Sin. SUR Group currently operates franchises across several major brands, including Black Sheep Coffee, throughout Scotland.

“SpudBros Express is one of the most exciting emerging food brands we have seen in recent years,” said Rehman. “The business has built incredible momentum through a combination of simplicity, quality and strong customer engagement, and we believe the concept has significant long-term growth potential across Scotland.”

The SpudBros – made up of sibling duo Jacob and Harley Nelson – rose to fame on TikTok in 2023 and have since amassed more than five million followers on the social media platform.

Taster CEO Bertrand Peyrat added: “This agreement represents an important milestone in the continued expansion of SpudBros Express across the UK. SUR Group brings an exceptional operational track record and deep experience in scaling consumer-facing brands across Scotland.

“Edinburgh is a fantastic city for the next stage of the brand’s journey, and we are excited to work alongside SUR Group to establish a strong long-term presence in the Scottish market.”

It follows the expansion of SpudBros partnership with EG On The Move earlier this month, which will bring the brand’s loaded jacket potatoes to 30 more service stations in the UK.

It follows two pilot SpudBros Express openings in Blackburn and Wakefield last year, as the forecourt operator sought to broaden its impulse food offer.
