St Ewe Free Range Eggs has expanded its range with a 10-pack version of its premium Rich Yolk line.
Rolling into 244 Tesco stores nationwide from 21 September, the Cornish business said the development of Rich Yolk Luxuriously Large 10-pack was in response to growing demand for premium eggs and larger packs.
CEO Rebecca Tonks said the launch was in response to a “real shift in the way consumers shop the egg category”.
Tonks added that people were not only “buying eggs more often” but also choosing to “invest in higher-quality products that deliver on taste, versatility and eating experience”.
“Consumers are recognising the value of great-quality eggs and looking for products that elevate everyday meals, whether that’s breakfast, baking or cooking from scratch,” Tonks added.
Data cited by the brand from NIQ found that 10-pack eggs were the fastest-growing format in the egg category by value (+20%), followed by 12-packs (+12.3%).
“As shopper purchasing behaviour continues to evolve, it’s important that we do the same and ensure our range reflects what consumers are looking for,” said St Ewe head of retail Anthony Frankland. “The data shows a growing demand for premium, high-quality egg products in larger volumes, and that’s exactly what this launch delivers.”
