Subway is expanding its vegan offerings with the launch of a new Smashed Falafel Sub as it looks to shake up its menu for 2026.
The new plant-based sub will be trialled in 300 UK stores from tomorrow (7 January) until 24 March or until stocks last. It includes falafel made from green chickpeas, vegetables and any sauce of choice. It will roll out alongside a six-piece side portion of Falafel Bites.
Joining the menu as a permanent addition is the new Breaded Chicken Sub. It features a new filleted chicken breast that is quadruple coated, alongside maple streaky bacon, melted cheese, sweet chilli sauce and a selection of fresh salad and vegetables.

”We’re excited to introduce the Breaded Chicken Sub as a bold new addition to our menu, delivering a seriously craveable combination of flavours,” said Subway EMEA interim director of culinary innovation Cathy Goodwin. “With baked, not fried chicken and the freedom to make it your way, it’s a hearty new indulgent sub designed to kick-start the new year with big taste and freshness.”
Both the Breaded Chicken Sub and Smashed Falafel Sub are available as a footlong or six-inch sub, wrap, salad or spud and are fully customisable.
Subway will also be bringing back its Oat & Raisin Cookie with a “new and improved” fibre-rich recipe with more raisins.
To mark the new menu launches, Subway Rewards members can get 30% off any Sub from 7 to 13 January, alongside a range of weekly deals and offers via the Subway app.
