Confectionery company Tangerine has acquired the confectionery arm of Burton's Foods for an undisclosed sum.
The deal, which includes Burton's liquorice allsorts and dolly mixtures plant in Blackpool and its 180 staff, will see Tangerine's turnover increase from £45m to nearly £60m.
Steven Joseph, chairman of Tangerine, said: “The acquisition is a great opportunity for Tangerine. The products and expertise are an excellent fit with our business and development plans.”
