Sarah Vizard joins as managing editor from Business Leader

The Grocer has boosted its editorial team with the appointment of a new managing editor and fmcg reporter.

Sarah Vizard has joined as managing editor and will oversee the publication’s product and supplier coverage, special reports and Focus Ons, as well as the comment and opinion section. She has more than 15 years’ experience as a business journalist and editor, having previously worked for a number of national and trade publications including Marketing Week, Raconteur and Business Leader.

Sunneva Moore has also joined The Grocer as fmcg reporter from The Grocer’s sister title Convenience Store, and will specialise in food brands, health and beauty.

Elsewhere, Niamh Leonard-Bedwell has been promoted from fmcg editor to Focus On editor, replacing Pola Lem who has now left. In her new role, Leonard-Bedwell will edit The Grocer’s new-look weekly category reports, which bring together sales data and shopper trends to show how different sectors of grocery are performing.

“These appointments point to The Grocer’s ongoing investment in covering the critical and complex grocery market,” said editor-in-chief Adam Leyland. “We are thrilled to have both Sarah and Sunny join as we build on the excellent work of the editorial team at this pivotal time for the industry and as we prepare for our next phase of growth. And congratulations to Niamh on her well-deserved promotion.”
