The Gym Kitchen has rolled a new range of ready-to-eat, high-protein meats into Tesco.
The four-strong range, called Ready-To-Eat Meats, arrived in stores on 13 April. It comprises Tikka Shredded Chicken, BBQ Shredded Chicken, Hot Honey Ham and Chicken & Chorizo Meatballs (rsp: £3.25/160g). Each contains up to 36g of protein per serving.
Ready-To-Eat Meats were designed to be the “perfect protein addition” to a salad or sandwich but could also be eaten straight from the pack without additional preparation, The Gym Kitchen said.
They were launched to meet a growing demand for convenient and protein-heavy snacks and main meals, it added.
The Gym Kitchen Founder Segun Akinwoleola said: “We are incredibly excited about The Gym Kitchen entering yet another new category and usage occasion. The versatility of our new Ready-To-Eat Meats range supports evolving modern eating habits, where shoppers are increasingly building meals around protein rather than traditional meal formats.
“It’s the future of food and we are leading the charge in the functional healthy eating space.”
The new range forms part of the brand’s strategy to develop more categories of quick and easy meals beyond traditional ready meals.
In January, the brand added a ready-made Chicken Korma meal, alongside a Chicken Fajita Rice Salad and a Korean BBQ Chicken Wrap.
Other products in The Gym Kitchen lineup include high-protein yoghurts, pancakes and instant noodles.
