Plant-based food company This has expanded its whole-food line with a limited-edition nut roast for the festive period.
The This Chestnut, Mushroom and Caramelised Onion Nut Roast (rsp: £7.50/400g) will launch into Tesco stores nationwide from 8 December for three weeks.
It’s made of chestnuts, mushrooms, parsnips, seeds and caramelised red onion chutney, and is described as “everything you could want in a festive dish”.
The dish has a “satisfying bite to it, and the sweet flavour of chestnut paired with the earthy depth of mushroom and sweetness of caramelised onion makes the new dish the perfect festive centrepiece”, the brand said.
The high-fibre product can also be frozen and cooked in its tray, adding to its convenience.
“All I want for Christmas is This,” said Mark Cuddigan, CEO of This. “Seriously, forget the socks and the festive knitwear, our new nut roast is the only thing that needs to be unwrapped at the dinner table this year, alongside your roasties, carrots, and sprouts of course.
“Whether you’re having a traditional roast or serving up a variety of dishes for your loved ones, we want This to be on your table.”
The company will also be taking “Christmas feasting to the next level” this month with a pop-up “butcher shop” in Shoreditch, on 29 and 30 November.
