The drinks are made with 76% egg white and deliver 20g of natural protein per bottle

Two Chicks has expanded its footprint in the booming protein market with what it claims is the UK’s first egg white protein drinks.

Blueberry Bliss and Chocolate Chip Cookie (rsp: £2/250ml) will land in selected Asda stores from 15 June.

The ready-to-drink duo are made with 76% egg white and contain 20g of natural protein per bottle. Dairy, gluten and fat free, they offered a “convenient lower-calorie protein option for consumers looking to support active and balanced lifestyles”, according to the brand.

The launch came amid growing demand for egg protein, Two Chicks said. The market was now worth over £300m in the UK and was forecast to grow at a CAGR of 5.1% through to 2030, it claimed, citing Fortune Business Insights data.

Meanwhile, Ocado searches for egg whites had increased 27% year on year, reflecting “growing consumer interest in natural, high-protein foods”, it added.

“As the UK’s first egg white protein drink, we’re bringing something genuinely new to a category crowded with dairy-based and synthetic protein alternatives,” said Two Chicks co-founders Anna Richey and Alla Ouvarova.

“Consumers are increasingly looking for leaner, more natural ways to increase their protein intake, without compromising on taste or convenience,” they added.

In April, Two Chicks moved into the snacking category with savoury egg bites and a pancake mix.

It came after Eurovo Group acquired a majority stake in the liquid egg white brand last year.
