Um Bongo, the kids' juice drink celebrated by comedian Vic Reeves, is adding two pure juices to its line-up and getting a new look. Um Bongo Tropical and Exotic Smoothie are aimed at fulfilling regulations governing children's in-school diets. Both are ambient and will be on shelf from next month, alongside the existing juice drink. Tropical is available in five-packs of 200ml cartons, while Exotic Smoothie comes in single 200ml cartons and three-packs of 200ml cartons. The brand will be backed by online promotional activity around the launch, while its packaging revamp aims to create a healthy and fresh image. The new look features jungle characters, while the Libby's logo has been removed to differentiate Um Bongo's 'pure' image from Libby's associations with fortified drinks. The brand's 1970s 'They drink it in the Congo' ad jingle was a favourite with Reeves, who chanted it regularly on the BBC's Shooting Stars series.
