Uniq has completed the sale of its ambient sauces unit UNIQsauces to McCormick - the UK arm of US-based spices group McCormick - for £12.15m.
Uniq said the sale was in line with the group’s strategy to focus more strongly on the growth markets within the European chilled convenience food sector.
The business has 350 employees and for the year ended March 31 posted sales of £335.5m and profits of £0.5m.
Chief executive Bill Ronald said: “As our interim results in November showed, our strong focus on the European chilled convenience foods business is producing benefits for the group. I believe this sale is in the best interests of both Uniq and Uniqsauces.”
