
Wholesale buying group Unitas has launched a confectionery guide to support independent retailers in boosting sales this spring.
The guide, which is the latest in its Plan For Profit series of Focus On guides, features the latest sales data, practical advice and tips on price, value, in-store activations and the bestselling SKUs for key confectionery selling occasions such as Mother’s Day and Easter.
“Occasions like this provide convenience stores with a fantastic opportunity to increase their confectionery sales, particularly boxed gifting ranges, so we’ve pulled together the latest advice and insight to support retailers to stock the right range and merchandise it most effectively in store,” said Unitas category coordinator Callum Atkinson.
Unitas chief operating officer David Cooke added: “We recognise how challenging the climate is for independent retailers, and we want to support them with the information, insight and advice that we know can make a big difference for their business.
“We know that retailers are incredibly time pressured, now more than ever, and there is a lot of noise in depot and online around NPD and bestsellers. Our themed Focus On guides provide an easy, accessible, at-a-glance guide to share the must-stock products and the range of opportunities that retailers can embrace to drive sales, footfall and profitability.”
The buying group’s guides, which include soft drinks, pet care, wine, breakfast, Halloween and crisps, snacks and nuts, are available on the Plan for Profit app and website.
Last month, Unitas also launched a sustainability guide to support independent retailers to run more sustainable stores.
It features insight and retailer-specific advice on sustainability, including the latest on the proposed deposit return scheme, which is due to launch in October 2027.
