Vita Coco has continued to capitalise on consumers switching to healthier, less sugary beverages as UK sales at the business soared once again.
Revenues raced another 18% higher to £42.5m in the year to 31 December 2024, according to newly filed accounts at Companies House. It follows a 19% top-line jump in the previous year.
The company attributed the growth to the Vita Coco brand outperforming in the coconut water and wider juice category.
The majority of sales in 2024 still originated from the core coconut water range, but Vita Coco said an increasing share was now generated from the Pressed range, launched towards the end of 2018.
Operating profits dipped slightly by £700k to £3.2m as it spent more on marketing, including signing a partnership deal with Team GB sprinter Zharnel Hughes, and staff costs increased as part of an ongoing expansion.
“The growth reflects the great efforts of the teams across the company in giving consumers more reasons and occasions to drink Vita Coco, be that ‘Refreshing Like an Athlete’, breaking your fast in Ramadan or as a base for your super smoothie,” Tim Rees, Vita Coco MD in the UK, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, told The Grocer.
“We look forward to accelerating this momentum with our retail partners into 2025 and beyond.”
Vita Coco was the fastest-growing juice and smoothie brand in the UK in 2024 as volumes shot up 22.1%, according to the latest category report in The Grocer [NIQ 52 w/e 28 December 2024]. The brand benefitted from shoppers searching the supermarket chillers for drinks with better-for-you credentials, whether as part of a meal deal or through newly launched multipacks.
The latest data from Circana for the 52 weeks to 12 July 2025 showed Vita Coco growing 30.4% to a retail sales value of £57.7m, with growth of 37.4% in the 12-week period.
