Mintel will be providing its annual glimpse into the future at the new products forum next month.
The predictions include a growth in products which provide not only flavour but a physical sensation.
Package size polarisation is also expected, with more small packs for snacking and large packs for bulk buying convenience, but fewer and fewer mid-range "family" packs. This may also lead to an increase in refill sizes.
The International New Products Forum will take place in Leatherhead on February 5.
