Wingstop Sheffield (1)

Wingstop UK & Ireland has appointed former Wagamama chief marketing and commercial officer Emma Colquhoun to the newly created role of chief growth officer.

She will be responsible for leading the chicken chain’s next level of growth, with a focus on customer-centric growth. Her role includes building on Wingstop’s “industry-leading strengths of serving flavour, staying authentically grassroots and culturally relevant”, the brand said.

Colquhoun brings more than 17 years’ experience leading growth, transformation and customer-centric strategy at large consumer and hospitality brands. She was most recently part of the executive team at Wagamama as chief marketing and commercial officer.

Her previous experience includes executive team positions at Krispy Kreme and Ferrero, as well as leading growth and customer-focused initiatives at brands including Nutella, Nescafé, Robinsons, Huggies, Kleenex, Tic Tac, and Kinder Bueno.

“I’m excited to step into this role with a simple north star: the customer comes first. Every decision should start with the customer experience,” Colquhoun said. “My focus will be on spending time in our sites, listening to our teams, and doubling down on what our customers love.

“If the customer wins, we all win, and I’m excited to help Wingstop UKI grow by putting customers first, one order at a time.”

Wingstop UK CEO Chris Sherriff added: “We are delighted to welcome Emma to Wingstop UKI in this newly created role. Emma brings a breadth of industry experience in brand expansion and innovation, which will be pivotal as we continue to deliver flavour to new communities in the UK and Ireland.”

Her appointment comes as Wingstop continues to expand across the UK. Last year marked a “record year of expansion” for the brand, which now operates 74 sites across the UK and employs over 3,000 people. It plans to grow to as many as 200 sites within the next five years.
