Theakston brewery is launching its XB ale in bottles to sit next to its popular Old Peculier brand.
The 4.6% abv XB, previously available only in
cask format, will be stocked nationwide by several multiples from this month. The 500ml bottles will be priced between £1.59 and £1.69.
The launch is the latest in a series of product development since the Theakston family bought back the Masham-based brewery in North Yorkshire from Scottish Courage two years ago.
Simon Theakston, executive director, said: “Since taking back control we’ve been aware of a small lobby among traditional ale drinkers to make XB in bottles for home consumption. We are delighted to be able to respond to that pressure.”
