Ocado has partnered with Brindisa to open a Spanish food shop within a shop on its website.

Brindisa is an upmarket deli with a shop in Borough Market in London and restaurants in South Kensington, Soho and Shoreditch.

Ocado said the new Brindisa shop would give customers the opportunity to pick up hard to find Spanish products.

It currently has 39 products on sale including Iberico Bellota hand-carved ham slices, smokey paprika and Brindisa olive oil biscuits with almonds.

“Ocado chose to work with Brindisa because of their 25 years of expertise in carefully sourcing fine Spanish food for the UK market. Their Borough Market stall is hugely popular with regular market goers and foodies alike, we are very pleased to bring the brand and their Spanish expertise to a wider market,” said an Ocado spokeswoman.

The opening of the Spanish shop follows the launch of other specialty food store portals this year, including a Swedish one, which went live in September.
