Thanks to the pandemic, this year more than ever it’s looking like shoppers’ Easter baskets will be filled online. Ocado is making sure it’s ready for the spring uptick with a range of new eggs, sweet treats and baked goods from well-known brands. Here’s our pick of the range
Baileys Salted Caramel Chocolate Egg
From biscuits to cakes, there aren’t many sweet treats in supermarket aisles that you can’t find Baileys in, and Easter eggs are no exception. Ocado is stocking two varieties, Salted Caramel Chocolate (pictured) and Strawberries & Cream and they both come with four truffles.
Gail’s Bakery Hot Cross Buns
Allowing shoppers to beat the bakery queues, they can now add Gail’s hotly anticipated Hot Cross Buns to their online shopping baskets. The bakers at Gail’s combine spiced dough with citrus peel, currants, sultanas and cranberries before glazing them with spiced syrup to make them extra sticky.
Love Cocoa Maldon Sea Salt Egg
One for the foodies, this vegan egg by Love Cocoa is made with 71% Colombian dark chocolate laced with crunchy, Maldon sea salt flakes and comes in completely plastic-free gift packaging.
Hotel Chocolat Cookie Dough and Ice Cream Sandwich
Hotel Chocolat’s take on the ice cream sandwich, this Cookie Dough & Ice Cream concoction combines a raspberry white chocolate and vanilla egg on caramel cookie crunch “bread” with pecans. It’s one of several Easter sandwiches, joined by Caramayo, Lamb & Mint and Chocolate Spread.
