Specialist onion importer/ exporter and distributor The Holus Bureau, which last year sold £17m worth of bulbs from its offices near Ely, Cambs, is branching out to embrace other crops. It has set up a two way office in Antwerp and will launch a new logo at Fruit Logistica exhibition in January. Linda Allen, recently appointed managing director, said: "We are now big enough to dedicate the same level of commercial commitment to a much wider range. "Our drive has already introduced us to many new sources and created many new product opportunities." THB already has exporting links with the Continent sourcing and exporting British beetroot, and has developed contacts with sprout growers in South Africa and with the Canadian swede industry. It has also taken the first steps to establish links with Dutch lettuce growers. "Our medium term aim is to offer the level of expertise we have in onions across the whole range of vegetables that are fundamental to the UK taste and diet," she said. {{FRESH PRODUCE }}
