Blakemore Wholesale has revealed plans to launch an online ordering platform in February.

The new platform would “greatly improve the shopper experience and provide a wealth of additional features that will make it easier for retailers to do business with us and in turn grow their own sales,” commercial director Russell Grant said.

Though some aspects were still being finalised, Grant said every product would have an image for the first time, the way in which products could be searched for would be improved, and more market intelligence and tailored information to individual customers would also be provided.

“We’ve done a lot of work already on improving the functionality of the site,” Grant said. “We will be a lot more interactive with customers.”

The new platform comes after Blakemore implemented a new IT-based marketing strategy and saw online sales grow 42% year on year in September and October.
