Dart Valley Foods managing director Michael Jolley reports exclusively for thegrocer.co.uk from this year's SIAL trade show

This is our second time here at SIAL. We had great success here 12 years ago and this time has been just as sensational. We are keen to develop the export side of the business as 10–12% of our turnover comes from overseas sales. Being one of the largest trade shows in the world, SIAL is the ideal place to do this

It’s been astounding the number of quality distributors present at this year’s show and we’ve been introduced to people we wouldn’t normally have met. We’ve been to other shows around the world including FOODEX Japan, the Spring Fair International in Birmingham and IFE in London and SIAL has definitely been just as successful. Being an international event we’ve encountered retailers and distributors from all over the world and it has paved the way for several new business prospects. It’s been a very busy few days but completely worth it.

Food from Britain has been fantastic throughout and has made the whole process a lot smoother. I would definitely recommend them and the show to other companies.
