Spar UK has launched a new range of eight fish products sourced in Scotland.
The range includes breaded, wet and smoked fish.
The new Spar brand chilled fish range is comprised of: smoked salmon fillets (rsp: £2.85), haddock fillets (rsp: £3.85), smoked mackerel (rsp: £2.99), hot smoked salmon flakes (rsp: £3.50), cod fillets (rsp: £3.85), salmon portions (rsp: £3.99), breaded haddock fillets (rsp: £2.90), and breaded cod fillets (rsp: £2.90).
Marketing support for the new ranges will include in-store PoS (posters, barkers and shelf stripping) and digital support on the Spar UK and wholesaler websites.
Dave Wright, Spar UK assistant brand manager, said the new range is likely to influence the purchase of other ingredients, offering opportunities for cross-merchandising, promotions and point of sale.
“Fish has an important role in the British diet, with 85% of adults saying they have eaten fish in the past three months,” he said.
“Provenance is also really important, with a quarter of consumers being influenced by where the fish is caught. All our range is sourced in Scotland.”
