BrewDog has appointed its first FD to “keep the wheels of revolution turning”.

Neil Simpson joins the craft brewer from accountancy firm Ritson Smith, where he has been an external adviser to BrewDog since it launched five years ago.

His appointment comes as BrewDog prepares to open an £8m brewery in Aberdeen and a year after it raised £2.2m by selling shares through its ‘Equity For Punks’ scheme.

“We’ve got more than 6,000 investors and Neil is a big part of our plan to ensure they see us grow, change minds and ruffle the feathers of the soulless corporate Mafioso that dominate this industry,” said BrewDog co-founder James Watt.
