Dr David Cameron has been suspended from the board of the Food Standards Agency and as chair of the Scottish Food Advisory Committee over “an allegation of gross misconduct”.

Dr Cameron is a biochemist and food safety consultant. He was appointed chair of the SFAC in February this year and joined the Food Standards Agency board in 2009. He is also chairman of NHS Grampian.

In a statement, the FSA said: “The allegation is subject to an ongoing inquiry and until that is complete the FSA will not make any further comment.”
