Paul Chmielewski has been promoted to UK managing director of chocolate manufacturer Elizabeth Shaw following Malachy McReynolds appointment as executive chairman.

McReynolds will now be responsible for the company's long-term strategic plans, which include achieving a £100m turnover in the next four years. He will also retain his role as MD of Elizabeth Shaw's parent company, Noi Sirius UK.

Chmielewski joined Elizabeth Shaw as marketing director in May 2006

but will now be responsible for the total UK operations, including the marketing portfolio, sales and supply chain.

"This is probably the best time in Elizabeth Shaw's history to be at the company," said Chmielewski.

"We have a fantastic new product range, a commitment to investment in our future and will return to TV advertising this autumn for the first time in years. To be taking over as managing director is a challenge I will relish," he added.
