Former ANM boss Alan Craig is to head up the new UK primary processing division of The Jerky Group.

As director of the newly formed meat snacks business, Craig will manage the Forres plant that will produce the Wild West jerky brand in the UK.

Craig - who met two of Jerky Group’s founders, James Newitt and Thomas Morrison, when the three worked at Anglo beef Processors (ABP) in Northampton - has become a joint shareholder in Meat Snacks.

Craig joined ABP in 1990, and become general manager of ABP Scotland before joining farmer-owned agri-business ANM as chief executive officer in 2009.
