Craig Sammells, brand manager at Discovery Foods, on Peter Kay, missing underwear and making space for Mexican food

What was your first-ever job? As a youngster I would wash neighbours' cars and mow their lawns, plus I had a paper round. My first role after university was on a graduate scheme with Henkel Consumer Adhesives.

What was your worst job interview? I was once interviewed in a downmarket hotel reception area by a 'wheeler dealer' salesman for a telesales role. I hadn't prepared as well as I could have, and I didn't get the job.

What was the first music single you bought? I don't remember the first single, but my first album was Human's Lib by Howard Jones.

How do you describe your job to your mates? I look after the advertising for Discovery Foods. People usually assume I'm a rep, and ask me which area I cover!

What is the most rewarding part of your job? Seeing the completion of a project.

What is the least rewarding part? My ever-expanding waistline. There doesn't seem to be a day that goes past without a birthday in the office this usually results in a pile of cakes and cookies on the spare desk.

What is your motto in life? You've got to be in it to win it! A cliché I know, but if you don't try you'll never succeed.

What's your nickname? Freddie! This is due to my resemblance to Andrew 'Freddie' Flintoff. It could be worse I suppose.

If you were allowed one dream perk what would it be? Four weeks' use of the company holiday home, overlooking Lake Como.

What's your favourite movie and why? Naked Gun. A silly, slapstick movie that I could watch again and again.

What has been the most embarrassing moment in your life? On the morning of my wedding day, I opened my case to find I hadn't packed any underwear or my suit trousers! Luckily, my best man came to the rescue.

Do you have any phobias? Heights. I didn't know this until last year, when we had a high-wire team-building event. I hugged every tree so tightly my fingers went numb.

If you could pick a celebrity to join your staff who would it be and why? Peter Kay. As well as being extremely funny and talented, I imagine he is very driven.

If you could change one thing in grocery what would it be? For every supermarket to have at least two aisles dedicated to Mexican food!

What animal best reflects your personality and why? A rhino. Fiercely protective and loyal, a rhino is usually calm, but with the ability to react quickly and charge when necessary.
