What was your first job? I used to deliver newspapers before school for the local off-licence. Not sure I’ve been up that early since if I’m honest.
What’s been your worst job interview? I once worked a season on a fishing trawler - during the one-minute interview they told me about 30 different ways I might get injured or lost at sea and then said “You good with that?”
What was the first music album you bought? Chocolate Starfish by Limp Bizkit.
How do you describe your job to your mates? Very rare that I talk shop with my mates - if someone new asks me what I do I like to say ‘as little as possible’, but that joke got old a few years ago.
What is the most rewarding part of your job? Seeing the finished products rolling off the line - when you spend so long developing them it’s like seeing your newborn baby for the first time (or so I imagine).
What is the least rewarding part? Anything that requires me to sit for long periods of time looking at spreadsheets.
What is your motto in life? Make more mistakes.
If you were allowed one dream perk, what would it be? Free lessons in anything you want. I’d like to learn how to fly a plane.
Do you have any phobias? I’m not a big fan of the way octopuses move.
If you could change one thing in grocery, what would it be? More incentive to take risks on smaller brands.
What luxury would you have on a desert island? I’m thinking about this practically so a knife, for opening coconuts.
What animal reflects your personality? A panda for its zen, but maybe a bit of beaver in there for practicality and organisation.
What’s your favourite film and why? Anything with Zac Efron in it.
What has been the most embarrassing moment in your life? I definitely wet myself at school once but I’ve pushed that memory so far down I can’t really remember it. I did find out recently that I’ve been pronouncing quinoa completely wrong for quite some time now.
Which celebrity would you most like to work with and why? Dwayne Johnson - he seems really nice and supportive.
What would your death row meal be? Pasta with cheese and ham.
