Kwik Save CEO Paul Niklas has brought in two new senior executives to help drive the chain's recovery.

David Parry joins the team as its buying director with responsibility for purchasing and running Kwik Save's supply chain. He faces the daunting task of persuading grocery suppliers to work with Kwik Save again, and get products back on shelves.

A number of the UK's major grocery suppliers had halted all deliveries to the retailer because of unpaid bills at the start of the year.

Parry joins Kwik Save from chilled cake products supplier Middlewich, which he set up with one other co-distributor last February.

He has held a number of senior positions within the sector, including the post of MD at Country Chef.

Mike Hartman has also joined the Kwik Save management team as its finance director and will restructure the business's finances.

He also arrives from Middlewich, where he was finance director. He has previously worked for Unilever Global where he was Global IT finance director.
