Star Wars characters Darth Vader, Chewbacca and R2-D2 are joining the Pez line-up to coincide with the release on DVD of the third instalment of George Lucas’s epic story, Revenge of the Sith.
Haribo MD Per Henérius said that the confectionery range launch aimed to update the line-up with well-known characters so that children could add to their collections.
It follows this summer’s launch of characters from major cartoon film Madagascar, which Henérius said had proved highly successful lines.
“The Star Wars series has been popular with film fans for almost three decades, and the characters are very famous, so there will be a ready audience for the Pez range,” he added.
Star Wars Pez come in packs of three sweets (rsp: 99p).
