Princes Foods is claiming a first in the corned beef arena by launching easy open cans.
The company said a new ringpull format had been developed in response to DTI findings that traditional key openings were a frequent source of injury in the home.
Neil Brownbill, marketing director are Princes Foods, said the motivation to update the packaging had been to help consumers and attract a younger audience. “We have made a significant investment in developing the new packaging for the traditional corned beef can,” he said. “A UK first, we have taken the industry lead to develop a safer and easier ringpull opening to provide a more convenient and safer packaging solution.”
Lean and Finest variants are the first to get the new format, while Traditional and Spicy will feature it shortly.
